Jane Addams High School is a public four-year high school serving grades 9-12. The school is designed to provide students with a quality education, utilizing literacy as the focus.
Jane Addams H.S. was established in 1987 as a GED program associated with the Jane Addams Resource Association, a community development non-profit organization which had recently spun off from Jane Addams Hull House. In 1997, the high school became a contracting vendor of the YCCS. In 1999, it secured state recognition status. In 2002, JAHS established itself as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Thank you for your interest in Jane Addams High School. In order to enroll in our school, you must be between the ages of 16-20 and reside in the City of Chicago.
In addition, prospective
students must provide:
Completed application packet (parent signature required)
Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Proof of Residency (Utility bill or lease)
Proof of income
Transcripts
Withdraw/Drop Slip from previous high school
Medical Records from previous high school
Copy of IEP (if special education)
Schedule and take TABE Test ($20 fee at time of testing)
Attend New Student Orientation (Parent must also attend)
Pay activity fee of $300 per year prior to start date
Agree to follow all school rules
