Jane Addams High School is a public four-year high school serving grades 9-12. The school is designed to provide scholars with a quality education, utilizing literacy as the focus.
Jane Addams H.S. was established in 1987 as a GED program associated with the Jane Addams Resource Association, a community development non-profit organization which had recently spun off from Jane Addams Hull House. In 1997, the high school became a contracting vendor of the YCCS. In 1999, it secured state recognition status. In 2002, JAHS established itself as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Thank you for your interest in Jane Addams High School. In order to enroll in our school, you must be between the ages of 16-20 and reside in the City of Chicago.
In addition, prospective
scholars must provide:
Completed application packet (parent signature required)
Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Proof of Residency (Utility bill or lease)
Proof of income
Transcripts
Withdraw/Drop Slip from previous high school
Medical Records from previous high school
Copy of IEP (if special education)
Schedule and take TABE Test ($20 fee at time of testing)
Attend New Scholar Orientation (Parent must attend with Scholar)
Pay activity fee prior to start date (Discounts for early enrollment)
Agree to follow all school rules
